Scouts will travel individually in their parents’ personal vehicles to arrive, Friday April 9, at approximately 4-5pm at Dismals Canyon, 901 Highway 8, Phil Campbell, AL 35581.  Pack will set up camp at the Boy Scout camping area at Dismals Canyon from 4:00 to 6:00pm.  Dinner will be prepared and served from 6:00-7:00.  Camp activities will be planned from 6:00-8:00.  The Dismalite Tour is scheduled for 8:00 pm.  After the tour we will go back to camp for more camp activities before lights out at 10:00.
Saturday morning breakfast will be prepared and served at 8:00am.  Following breakfast cleanup, a hike through Dismals Canyon is planned at 10:00.  We plan to break camp, “leave no trace”, and depart in individual vehicles no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday, 10 April.

Red filter flashlights are required for viewing dismalites.
Webelos can also look in their handbook for camping needs on page 352-353

Scouts are welcomed to bring their own meals, but Pack 236 will provide 2 meals on the campout at a cost of $3.00 per person.  Recommend campers bring a mess kit that includes a cup.  This will save on the amount of trash created that will need to carried back down the hill.  BSA mess kits are available at the Scout Shop, or a great place to get them is the Army Surplus Store in Huntsville.
